Hobbs & Olson | Carpenter Hazlewood is a Salt Lake City based firm of attorneys managed and operated by people who believe that the practice of law is and should be an honorable and rewarding profession. Our attorneys and staff are committed to providing superior legal advice and service, while remaining mindful of the costs and personal strife that are inevitably associated with the need for legal services.

Our clients usually select the firm based upon the recommendation of the firm's existing clients or of other recommendations from other Salt Lake City attorneys. Our clients stay with the firm because of the prompt, professional service accorded to all of the firm's clients, and because of the firm's commitment to the prompt and successful resolution of our clients' problems.

Attorneys in the firm practice both civil and criminal law; our civil focus includes extensive trial and appellate work, as well as transactional assistance. The firm's primary areas of civil practice fall in real property, employment and commercial litigation; the criminal representation includes misdemeanors and felonies in all areas.

We also regularly assist corporations and individuals from out of state who find themselves involved in Utah disputes. We regularly and frequently associate as "local counsel;" we also will provide the exclusive representation for out-of-state clients. Other Salt Lake City trial lawyers often retain us as co-counsel and refer conflict matters to us.

We would be happy to discuss your legal needs with you, if you believe we can help you. We invite and encourage you, if you are considering the firm, to contact us for the names of clients and other Utah lawyers (and from elsewhere) who are familiar with us and the consistent quality of our representation. We also invite you to spend some time reviewing this site, which provides an overview of the firm, its members and staff and its clientele.

We have received the highest rating available rating ("AV") from Martindale-Hubbell, the nation's leading directory of attorneys and law firms. Martindale-Hubbell's ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell ratings fall into two categories -- legal ability and general ethical standards.

Lincoln Hobbs and Margaret Olson have both been repeatedly named to Utah's Legal Elite by Utah Business Magazine, and both have been named by Mountain States Super Lawyers magazine as two of the top lawyers in the region (in real estate and criminal defense, respectively). Only five percent of the lawyers in the region are given this recognition. Lincoln Hobbs has been selected for inclusion in the 2017 issue of the Best Lawyers in America (in the field of labor and employment law and construction litigation) and has received a 10 out of 10 rating from www.avvo.com.

Lincoln and Margaret are both licensed to practice law in Utah and Idaho, and Lincoln is also licensed to practice in Wyoming.
